A Bicycle Built for 2

My youngest has taken to cycling recently, going round and round our estate on his newly acquired yellow bicycle, equipped with training wheels of course.
I, unfortunately, have never learnt to cycle. The rare occasions when a kind friend has volunteered to let me ride tandem on a bicycle buit for two were such wonderful treats!
So I'm always envious of cyclists who whiz past me during my runs along the beach - how wonderful it must be to feel the wind in one's hair as while pedalling 'great' distances effortlessly (compared to the meagre miles I cover, one gasping step at a time!) ... well... someday, when I overcome my fear of falling...perhaps I too will feel the wind...

I made the pinwheel for this card after consulting Ashley's Blog. Do check it out for lots of wonderful cards and tutorials!
Have a good week!

Happy Lunar New Year 2013

Hello there!
Today is the eve of the Lunar New Year.
Chinese around the world are getting ready to bid farewell to the Dragon and welcome the year of the Water Snake. I've been busy stocking up on new year goodies and doing some last minute spring-cleaning. In a couple of hours, we'll be headed for our customary reunion dinner at my mother-in-law's. She's probably busting her back right now finishing the final preparations for a sumptuous feast - Thanks mum :)!

In the spirit of the new year, here's some random fun stuff I came across:

Upsized Crochet .. again

Hi there,

I've been experimenting with upsizing again....at E's suggestion....

Here's the result...upsizing the small flowers in fine crochet thread with 1mm beads to these large flowers with 6mm beads...

Here's a crochet tip for crocheting with double strands of yarn...you don't have to buy 2 skeins -- just take one end out from the inner core of the skein, and the other end from the outer edge of the skein....saves you having to buy 2 skeins if you just needed one!

Have fun experimenting! Here's to a great week ahead!
