Hello there,
Have you received a compliment today?
We all LOVE compliments don't we? For a crafter or anyone who creates, one of the best compliments we can receive is if someone will actually commission us to create something special for them...
In the past month, I've had the privilege of making two custom orders and loved every bit of the process.
Thank you so much to the 2 dear ladies who have greatly encouraged me!

Deck Shoes are Back!
Hello there,
Just a quick update on the latest colour variation on the deck shoes which have been added to the Etsy shop. They've been our most popular design so far and I have a hard time trying to ensure that no TWO pairs are exactly alike....which means I'm running out of colours for the little guys!
If you do have any ideas or suggestions, I would love to hear them.
Have a great week ahead!

Pretty in Pink
Hi there,
Just popping in to share what I've made this week. It's been a while since I've made something sweet and pink for a little girl and since the T-strap shoes have been well-received, I'm 're-visiting' them. As always, I never make 2 identical items (unless on request), this pair is the first T-strap shoes in this shade of pink with these particular flower wood buttons.
Have a great week ahead preparing for the holiday season!

Little Boy Blue..Really?
Hi there,

Just 'popped' in to share my latest pair of baby shoes with a pretty cheery wooden button with pinwheel design! Reminds me of a windmill spinning and don't you love the colours with the 'antique' tone?
Paired with the sweet blue yarn, don't you think these shoes will look lovely on even a baby girl too?

Have a happy week ahead!

Deck Shoes again
Hi there,
Just 'zipping' in to share the latest colour scheme of the deck shoes -- decided to move away from the blue theme. How do you like these?
Have a great weekend (or what's left of it!)

Here they are in the regular 'pose'. |
Found a new 'friend' to accompany the shoes! |

Baby Brother
Hi there,
Have you had to bid a semi-permanent farewell to a loved one? It's tough but thankfully we have memories to hold on to...and of course technology that helps keep us connected...
I bid farewell to my only sibling, my younger brother, and his family today. They are moving to the US for an indefinite period of time. It's strange how one of my most distinct memories of him were when we were still kids. As time passed, we grew up, got caught up in the daily grind and meeting each other became an occasional event.
Here's a pair blue baby shoes for a 'baby' brother....
Here's wishing my 'baby' brother and his family a great time in ahead, and for you, a great weekend!

Variations on a Theme
Hi there,
For those of us who have tinkled the ivories at some time or other and have attended formal piano lessons, a theme by violinist Paganini written in 1820 so captivated audiences and composers that today, 'Variations on a Theme by Paganini' is probably one of the most well-known pieces, with composers such as Brahms, Liszt and several others having their own versions. (If you've never heard it, here's a video of the version for solo violinist. Enjoy!)
Well, these few weeks my 'ideas stream' has run dry (for the moment I hope!). I took a look at what I'd done and decided to do a Variations on a Theme' of the deck shoes for boys.
First variation which you've been seeing is in the COLOUR.
Here's the latest in the shop:

Flew right Out!
Hi there,
The urge to make the deck shoes strikes again...this time in blue tones...
The pair in bright blue and white 'flew' out of the shop the same day it was listed! It's a great encouragement and suggests that you like this design.

For those who are not familiar with deck shoes (otherwise known as boat shoes), here is nice photo (from a blog) of the source of insipiration for these shoes:

If you have any suggestions for new designs, I would love to hear from you!
Have a great weekend!

T-straps
Hi there!
C's a darling little girl who's fast growing up and is a bundle of energy. Her mum 's request for crochet shoes which will 'stay on' led to these....and C's mum is pleased to report that they do 'stay on'!
I made another 2 pairs for the Etsy shop. Grab them while you can!

'Frosty' on Shoes
Hi there!
Remember these little guys?
They were 'cute as a button' when I came across them ... my buddy has put them on a card and today I'll show you where I put them. -- you guessed right! Baby Shoes! In the season's signature red, white & green colours, aren't these perfect for that 'frosty' Christmas?
Hope you like them!

A Tiger Tot
Hi there,
What comes to mind when you hear someone say 'tiger'? The ferocious-looking animal? Stripes? The infamous sportsman? Your boss? (Just kidding..)
In many asian societies, the tiger is a revered symbol. For example, in Japan the tiger is the emblem of the great aristocratic warriors famously known as the samurai. It represents the virtue of courage. For the Chinese, the tiger is the third animal in the Chinese Zodiac and is regarded as a 'slayer of evil'. Those born under this sign are believed to be strong, noble, aggressive, independent and courageous. However, these traits are deemed to be masculine and 'tiger boys' are welcomed but not 'tiger girls'.
Are tigers also revered in your culture? Do they have similar symbolisms? Do share with us!
Now to crafting.....I came across the cutest tiger buttons and so naturally, they belong on shoes meant for the spunky boy who's ready conquer the world.
Hope you like them!

Working around a Button
Hi there,
Have you ever gone shopping and simply fallen in love with an accessory such as a bag, earring, necklace etc...Of course you bought it didn't you? Alas, when you reached home, you discovered that you didn't have anything in the wardrobe to match it... So began a quest to find the perfect outfit, shoes etc just to match that ONE accessory....
Isn't it interesting how we often end up arranging the 'rest' just to fit that ONE small special thing?
Last month, the cutest small little button caught my eye...and I HAD to buy it....but when I reached home, I realised that it did not quite fit onto any of my current shoe designs...it was a tad too small...
And so began the quest of creating a new design to fit the button...Amazingly, I managed to come up with two new designs!
Here they are, 3 pairs of shoes featuring those CUTE small SOCCER BALL buttons..
Hope you like them!

Hi there,
My buddy Sheon & I are both out of town with our families, but we have't forgotten you!
I'm really thankful for being able to line up this post before I left. As to where I am right now -- well, I promise to share with the pictures when I'm back. Of course, I've brought along a crochet project...we'll do the reveal in the next few weeks ok?
Here is something I 'whipped up' for our flea stall mentioned here at Rochester Mall on Sunday 17th June only. As usual, I coudln't resist making a little 'tweak' to the design...did you notice it? (Yep, it's the shape of the shoe front..)
Do drop by and grab it if you like it!
